AF III Protein Skimmer

Renewed 3rd generation Protein Skimmer model with ball valve for flow regulation and special new bio-rings for even better oxygen mixing. The ball valve makes it much easier to set the correct water level. Through the 4 mm air connection and the supplied flow meter, the air pump continuously pumps 30 l of air per hour into the filter. This pressure ensures that the foam is forced out of the filter through the foam outlet tube.
A quick and easy way to get rid of proteins dissolved in water in the form of foam. A venturi tube mixes water with air under low pressure and separates the resulting foam. We recommend for natural ponds up to 20m³ and tanks with KOI up to 10m³ (depending on stocking density).
The principle of the skimmer: the device combines 3 different filter systems – biological, chemical and mechanical. Its principle has been used in marine aquariums for many years. It is now engineered for use in fresh water to separate excess proteins from the water.
Other benefits: Stabilizes pH, removes ammonia, nitrites and nitrates. Removes water discoloration, dirt particles, phosphates, ammonia and many heavy metals. Water oxygenation increases. The function of the skimmer does not depend on the activity of bacteria and thus works immediately after being connected. Prevention against fish diseases caused by poor water composition.
By using an ozonizer at the air inlet to the venturi tube, we will significantly increase the efficiency of this protein skimmer. Water flow: 1500-5000 l/h, we recommend an optimal flow of 3000 l/h.
